Here are some fascinating numbers. By 2021, 80% of the worlds internet traffic will be video. There will be 1.9 billion video internet users and people will be watching 3 trillion minutes of video per month. These numbers came from research done by the company Cisco which is not alone in its assessment.

How video is moving the economy

Here are some more fascinating video statistics that you should consider:

90% of users say that product videos are helpful in the decision process (Source: Hubspot)
92% of mobile video consumers share videos with others (Source: RendrFx)
Including a video on a landing page can increase conversion rates by 80% (Source: Unbounce)
Video in an email leads to 200-300% increase in click-through rates (Source: Hubspot)
Facebook videos receive 135% more organic reach on average than a Facebook photo.

These are just a few numbers as examples of how video is drastically changing the landscape of business.  An article in Forbes highlighted that marketers who use video grow revenue 49% faster than non-video users. The reason for this growth is how technology is advancing faster and faster by providing tools and resources that otherwise were not available in the past. The relatively fast growth of Youtube and Facebook is making it very easy to create video content and share it exponentially to a huge audience.

If you want people to engage with you and check out your services, they must see and trust you first. According to a study done by Google, Nearly 50% of internet users look for videos related to a product or service before visiting a store. For context, there are 4 billion internet users around the world at the moment I'm writing this, and that number is increasing exponentially. If you are going to build an online personal brand around your services; be it business coaching, therapeutic services or any type of business where the brand is your expertise. Then you must start seriously considering the use of video as a marketing tool.

The typical reasons there is some resistance to start doing video marketing is a false notion that it needs to be professional, that is too expensive and that there is not enough time and resources. (Source: reelseo)

I am going to address all of these to prove it doesn't have to be that way and that you probably already have all you need to start doing videos today!

Reason Number 1: Video needs to be professional

I tell you now as a professional myself who has shot and edited hundreds of hours of video footage, that you don't need all the bells and whistle to start doing video marketing. There is a time and a place for adding more production value to a video project for sure. However, you might never need a professional video depending on your goals. What you do need is a clear message the speaks to your audience. The keywords necessary for your message to resonate with them expressed with passion and conviction.

Reason Number 2: Video is expensive

Believe me as a videographer myself I always wish to have the best camera. Years ago I did not want to shoot videos unless I had a very expensive one. I learned quickly to discard that thinking. There is saying inside the circles of the film industry and now it's being used in the business world. It goes like this. “The best camera is the one you already have”.  As it so happens to be your smartphone.

These days smartphone can shoot in HD. They have shot even feature films with smartphones to bust the myth that we need expensive cameras. What we really need is better stories and most importantly give value to our clients. My hope right now is that I am giving valuable information to you. That is what is supposed to be our major concern with any medium we choose to say our message.

Now, of course, there are some things you can do to ensure for Quality. Make sure that when you record yourself you have enough light around you and the sound is clear. With just these two factors, you will have enough to reach your audience. Just press record.

Reason Number 3: There is not enough time.

Videos with your smartphone can be shoot at any time. However, there are ways to maximize time to always have video content. One way is to batch your video recordings in one day. For example, if you have 5 tips to overcome anxiety. Shoot each tip on the same day and post them on Facebook or Youtube individually one for each day and repeat the process. You can also batch different topics in One day. Just schedule it out on your calendar. Here is a nice tip if your batching. Wear different clothes for each video. That way you will look different on each day. This is also totally optional.

Other options are to record immediately when you learned something profound in a seminar, book or class and share your reaction. That is why Youtube reaction videos are so popular. Your audience wants to learn what you learned and they will be grateful for your insights because you will also share a special moment. This can also solidify whatever you have learned into your brain because studies have shown that you learn more by teaching.

There you have it. Video Marketing is here to stay and it's the way to go if you want more leads and more sales and you want to book yourself solid. If you want to reach out with any questions or want to do a video collaboration feel free to reach out!
