How to start video marketing online
'}}

I'm a personal branding videographer. I love creating online video projects. I'm making this disclosure because, of course, I'm biased. I have filmed and edited hours of video. Still- the jury is out, and we can all agree that video marketing is one of the most effective tactics to reach and engage your clients. Not to mention that it's a lot more fun. It not only helps you grow brand awareness but also encourages people to take action, builds trust in your personal brand and services, and allows you to stand out from the crowd. If you're new to video marketing, here are some steps to get started and focus on your target audience.

Planning your video content

A plan will drastically help you to avoid burnout. Before you start creating videos:

  1. Make sure you have a plan and a video marketing strategy outlining what kind of content and types of videos you will create, how often you will post them, and what social platforms you'll be using for distribution.
  2. Make sure your strategy is practical and realistic.
  3. Get familiar with video SEO.

With a plan, it will be easier to track progress and measure success on your video marketing journey.

Create relevant videos

Your videos should tell a relevant story to your audience with different types of content. Whether it's an inspiring "how-to," social video, or engaging promotion video – make sure that your message resonates with the viewers. Always be walking in their shoes, giving you a better shot at maximum audience engagement. At the same time, consider adding a wide range of branded elements like logos, graphics, and animation into your online video content.

Find out where your target audience is

Once you know your target audience, focus on finding out on which social platforms they spend their time for online video consumption. Different social media platforms offer different approaches for reaching them: Facebook and Instagram are great visuals channels and have an older audience; LinkedIn is good for more technical conversations; Twitter allows for bite-sized engagement; YouTube is the second biggest search engine behind Google where video SEO is heavily used; TikTok is geared towards stories geared towards a young adult audience – find out which one works best for your needs. It's better to start posting on only one platform at the beginning to get a sense of things. However, there is also an argument to be made for "in some cases" posting the same content on all platforms. This all depends on your video creation process and video formats.

Optimize your videos for search engines

Search engine optimization will significantly aid your video marketing efforts. As previously mentioned, add keywords to the titles of your videos - this way, they will appear higher in search engine results when people look up topics related to those keywords. You can also optimize them by including captions so that users can watch even if they can't increase their volume or by providing translated versions.

Engage with your video content audience

Creating engaging video content and using it to engage with your audience is more important than ever for businesses. Engaging your audience means that viewers share, watch, and comment on the content you create—which can be highly beneficial for brand awareness and customer base. Furthermore, when viewers feel like their opinions are heard and respected, they become repeat customers, increasing your chances of success in growing your fan base. Engaging with your audience through video content allows you to demonstrate the value of your product or services more directly - allowing potential customers to more closely relate to what's being offered. Effective video engagement is an invaluable marketing tool that shouldn't be overlooked. Reply to every comment. Don't take comments for granted, especially at the beginning of your journey.

Leverage Studies And Insights

There's no one size fits all answer regarding video marketing insights because every website, personal brand, and business has its own individual approach and strategy behind successful video campaign strategies. I listen to Pat Flynn's podcast and watch Gary Vaynerchuck's and Roberto Blake's YouTube channels to gather insights on video marketing trends. Explore various studies published online and learn from past successes/failures made by other companies - this information can help steer your decision-making process when creating content for your own audience.

Measure Impact And Track Results

Your content has to turn a customer into a loyal customer of your business through your video content strategy. When it comes to video marketing efforts, it's essential to measure and track impact because this is the only way to truly understand the success of your video content. By measuring heavy metrics like shares, views, click-through rates, thumbs-ups, and likes, you can clearly see what type of videos work in your particular market and what drives customer engagement. Additionally, tracking performance data will help you refine your campaigns and campaigns better messages or visuals that actually resonate with viewers beyond basic likes. This data also allows you to make more informed decisions when creating additional ad campaigns or developing future content. Be aware that results start showing up slowly. The more videos you post, the clearer the picture will be of where you need to adjust.

Enjoy the process of video content creation

Creating video content for your audience can be a great way to establish yourself as an authority in your field, build a loyal following, and engage people in conversation. To make the process enjoyable, focus on the creativity and the joy of creating videos without worrying about perfection. Try different styles of videos, experiment with visuals and audio options, and have fun while making your creations. Having clear objectives before you start creating is also important, which will help you stay focused on your goals. Taking a creative approach to video creation will result in improved results and allow you to enjoy the process from start to finish.
