The use of video keeps skyrocketing!. It's becoming clear that brands must have a content marketing video component to maximize their branding and business potential.
Micro video content is continuing to rise. Reels receive 22% more engagement than regular video content, according to Cielo24, a video captioning and transcription company that also works with Artificial Intelligence for Ad Targeting.
Other trends they have covered are that 44% of internet users watch vlogs and that nano-influencers, with audiences, of less than 5,000 followers, have the highest engagement rates.
This last piece of data I found very interesting and exciting. It follows the 1000 true fans theory by Kevin Kelly in which a person can make a living with 1,000 hardcore fans that are constantly buying from them.
How can you jump at this opportunity?
I was having a conversation with a friend a few weeks ago. Her personal brand is constantly growing. Then reason in part; because of the use of platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. These are easy-to-use online platforms to start using video. But what if you want to produce more long-form content on platforms like YouTube?
Recording video on your smartphone is pretty straightforward. At the bare minimum, make sure to buy yourself a small tripod, or at least that is what I recommend. If you want to use your hands like those kids on YouTube in their Lambos, have at it!
It's the editing where I see a lot of people get stuck. Editing takes a lot of time and can get very complex very fast. Fortunately, video technology is getting better. You can skip the editing by going live, or you can use online simple editing tools like Invideo. It's free to use in the basic package for up to 5 minutes. It has a very simple; drag and drop interface. It also has several video templates that you can use as B-roll, music, graphics. Think of it like Canva, but just for video. At the moment, this is the easiest way of editing I have found, and I think it's the best solution for those of you who are terrified of heavy editing software.
